A new year started me off with a new camera :) (Thanks Mom and Dad! Completely unexpected, but more than welcomed. I’m now shooting with a Nikon D5000 and its 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 VR kit lens.) Oh Auntie Mae’s Parlor, how I missed you and your odd lighting. I’m always up for a good challenge though, and with the D5000′s ability to handle lower light with less noise, I was super excited to try it out.
Needless to say, my ears were ringing by the end of the set. Good times, regardless!
Leave it to the wonderful folks of German descent living in Kansas to come up with a festival combining The Wizard of Oz with Oktoberfest. This weekend was OZtoberfest in Wamego, KS. Food, music, Munchkins (the original remaining ones from the movie!), and talks were sprinkled throughout the weekend. Los Habaneros performed on the entertainment stage on a sunny Sunday afternoon. I am regretting it now, but I most certainly should have put on sunscreen….
